About us

The Sustainable Environment Development Initiative (SEDI) is a non-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization committed to protecting Nigeria’s environment through a people-centered approach. Registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/TI/NO 128363) and headquartered in Benin City, Edo State, SEDI works to address critical gaps in the environmental development sector.

Guided by a dedicated Board of Directors and led by an Executive Director, SEDI works in close collaboration with local and international partners. Moreover, it strives to promote sustainable environmental practices that not only address present human needs but also ensure long-term benefits for future generations.

Our work is rooted in community empowerment, environmental advocacy, and capacity building. We strive to remove institutional constraints, bridge resource gaps, and link environmental sustainability with poverty reduction and development goals.
